  • Wellness & Vaccinations  /  Spay & Neuter

    Wellness & Vaccinations

We strongly recommend bringing your pet in for a comprehensive physical examination every 12 months to assure that if your pet has any health problems, they can be detected and treated at an early stage. During the examination, Dr. Peterson will check your pet’s different organs and systems for any abnormalities, such as:

    • Eyes
    • Skin
    • Coat
    • Teeth & Gums
    • Weight
    • Temperature
    • Cardiovascular System
    • Gastrointestinal System
    • Nervous System
    • Respiratory System
    • Urinary System
    • Ears

We also provide extended examinatinons if needed. Regular examination is essential for your pet’s health and we do our best to give attention to any health concern you may have.

    Spay & Neuter

There are many benefits to spaying or neutering your pet. First, you will contribute to the prevention of the dog and cat overpopulation. Second, you can eliminate messy heat cycles in your female companion and embarrassing behavior in your male companion. Third, you will help prevent diseases in your pet such as prostate disease, testicular cancer, mammary cancer, and infections in the uterus.

Spay and neuter procedures are performed under a number of anesthetic and monitoring devices. A veterinary technician continually assesses your pet’s vital signs during the procedure. Although the risk of an anesthetic death in a normal, healthy pet is very rare, our monitoring devices and procedures allow us to respond to an anesthetic emergency faster. Faster responses can save lives.

Please call or visit our facility to learn more about our procedures.

  • Microchipping

    Microchipping

Microchip implantation is a great way to help reunite pets and their lost owners. Shelters are already overcrowded, so lost pets can only be kept for a short period of time. Millions of pets get lost every year and shelters do their very best to locate owners, but if your pet has no form of identification, there’s not much they can do. A tiny microchip that fits through a hypodermic needle contains a personal; one-of-a-kind identification number that can save your pet’s life.

  • Dentistry

    Dentistry

Regular dental prophylaxis or cleanings is one of the most important procedures for your pet. Just like you, your pet needs dental care.

To prevent periodontal or gum disease, your pet’s teeth should be brushed regularly, and this is the best way to control plaque, before it mineralizes into tartar. When plaque and tartar are present on teeth and under gums it creates foul mouth odor, gum disease, and may eventually lead to a heart problem.

Every comprehensive physical examination in our hospital includes a thorough dental exam. If we find any abnormalities in your pet’s mouth, we will recommend a treatment plan, which is important for the overall health of your pet.

  • Dermatology

    Dermatology

Skin diseases are very common in veterinary medicine. Many of them are chronic and it can be very difficult to find the cause of the problem.

Allergies are the most common problems in skin conditions; diagnosis is often difficult and may take time to find the right treatment(s). Many skin diseases cause intense itching and scratching which leads to further skin damage.

Your veterinarian will determine the instigating cause of the skin problem and with correct diagnosis and proper therapy will produce comfort for your pet and stop the frustration of all members of the family.

  • Pharmacy, Lab & Radiology Services

    Pharmacy

We have a fully equipped in-house pharmacy. It’s very important that your veterinarian has a complete supply of all medications commonly used in veterinary medicine. This allows you to take your pet’s medication home with you after your appointment. We try to carry a wide range of drugs that your pet will need, including medications to control internal parasites, and medicated shampoos. If your pet ever needs a medication that we do not carry, we will find this medication for you at no additional cost.

When you need a refill on a prescription for your pet, you can call our front desk or submit a request through our contact page and then pick up the medication at your convenience.

    Lab

Our in-house laboratory is a very essential diagnostic tool which helps us to diagnose and monitor your pet’s health. In conjunction with outside laboratories we are able to provide accurate and prompt results for our patients. We can perform different laboratory services including blood, urine, cytology, parasite testing, clinical chemistry, and provide rapid results. We are dedicated to offer complete laboratory services to aid in the diagnosis of your pet’s health problem(s).
